The Chinese Embassy in Kenya has recently announced a new measure to simplify the visa application process for Kenyan travellers.
Starting November 20, the embassy is streamlining visa requirements to bolster collaboration between China and Kenya. Kenyan visa seekers will no longer need to schedule appointments; instead, they can submit their applications to the Visa Application Service Centre in Nairobi during normal work hours. This adjustment aims to ease the monetary strain and decrease distractions from rigorous visa procedures, representing substantial progress for Kenyans.
It is important to note that while the appointment system is being eliminated, the processing time and fees for visa applications will remain unchanged. To apply for a Chinese visa, interested individuals must complete the online form available on the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Nairobi website at visaforchina.cn/NBO2_EN/.
To improve your chances of getting your application accepted, it is advised to submit during off-peak hours along with your supplementary materials. The embassy has pointed out that doing so reduces significant congestion and prevents extensive holdups within the office. The embassy has revealed that those who have already made online appointments will be given priority. To take advantage of this priority, candidates need to concisely show proof of their confirmation page when they present their documents at their appointed time.
"Applicants who have already completed online appointments will be given priority for submitting their documents within the corresponding time slot at the appointment date by presenting the confirmation page upon arrival," read part of the statement.
