Kenyans Can Now Check 2026 Green Card Lottery Results Online

Thousands of Kenyans who participated in the 2026 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery Program, commonly known as the Green Card Lottery, can now check their application status online following the official release of results on Saturday, May 3. 

The US Department of State's annual initiative aims to provide a pathway to legal permanent residency in the United States for individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the US. Applicants who submitted their entries between October 2 and November 5, 2024, are urged to visit the Electronic Diversity Visa (E-DV) website's Entrant Status Check portal to determine if they have been selected. 

The results will remain accessible until September 30, 2026, and applicants must retain their confirmation numbers for future reference. Selection in the DV Lottery, while a significant first step, does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. Those chosen must complete the Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application, submit all required documents to the US Embassy, and attend an interview. This rigorous process ensures that only qualified applicants continue toward obtaining permanent residency.

US government officials are cautioning applicants to be vigilant against fraudulent schemes. The State Department has emphasised that it does not notify winners via email or letters, nor does it request advance payments for applications. Individuals should remain sceptical of any unsolicited communication promising guaranteed selection or demanding fees for application processing.
