Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua and two senior county officials could be arrested after the High Court issued an arrest warrant for the trio.
The County boss and the two officials will be arrested for disobeying a court order that required them to pay salaries owed to former employees.
Jackson Kimani, Daniel Kingori, Benjamin Kimengich, David Kirimi and Hassan Bagaja were claiming their wags after being suspended by the Nakuru county government.
Justice Monica Mbaru of the Employment and Labor Relations Court said that Mbugua and the two failed to appear in court on June 8th after the Judge summoned them on June 5th. Lawyer Brian Otieno, who represented the claimants, told the court that the Governor and the officials had not obeyed the order and should be arrested for contempt of court.
Justice Mbaru on Thursday directed Nakuru OCPD to arrest the three immediately and arraign them before the court on or before June 13.
On October 7, 2016, the court ruled in favor of the claimants and ordered the County to pay them after dismissing them without pay.
The suspension of the five officers by the County Hiring board and the county government was declared unlawful by the court.
