Court Orders the Deportation of a Nigerian Man Accused of 'Bedding' Nairobi Women for Survival

The court has ordered for the deportation of a Nigerian man, Okeke Patrick Godwin Chukwudu, who is accused of taking advantage of Kenyan women for survival in Nairobi.

The court established that Okeke has been in Kenya for the last six months without proper documentation. In his ruling on Wednesday, Milimani Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi ordered the Immigration Department to immediately send him back to his country.

“The Inspector General of the National Police Service to liaise with the Director of Immigration to ensure the accused person is deported this evening. You must be on a flight to Nigeria this evening,” ruled Andayi on Wednesday as quoted by Nairobi News.

The prosecution told the court that Okeke has been preying on women in Nairobi for survival.

“He has no business or residence in Kenya but preys on women whom he conned and moves on to another Kenyan,” argued the prosecution team led by Solomon Naulikha.

The 56-year-old suspect was arrested on April 9th in Nairobi without any documentation and pleaded guilty to the charges of being in the country illegally.

In his defense, Okeke told the court that his 'Kenyan wife' withheld his Nigerian passport following a domestic row. He also told the judge that he notified the Nigerian embassy in Nairobi about the issue with hope of being issued with a new travel document.

Okeke was arrested in possession of a car registered under Valentine Arigi, who had reported it missing. In defense, however, the suspect accused his wife of attempting to frame him in a bid to have him deported.

“I bought the vehicle in 2015 from Judy Maneka and my wife set me up with police and I will make sure she will not use my vehicle,” he said.

Are these women being ‘bedded’ by him forced? Is it a crime to bed someone if they are willing? Just asking.
