‘Shetani Ashindwe’: DP William Ruto Launches Scathing Attack on Raila in Sunday Morning Tweet

Deputy President William Ruto has launched a scathing attack on Opposition leader Raila Odinga.

In a Sunday morning tweet, a furious Ruto fired a salvo at Odinga over his claims that Pope Francis instructed Kisumu Catholic Archbishop Philip Anyolo to return a Sh4 million luxury vehicle gifted to him by the Deputy President on January 12th.

Speaking during a funeral in Siaya on Saturday, Odinga alleged that Archbishop Anyolo returned the vehicle to Ruto after Pope's order.

“Recently, during the installation of Archbishop of Catholic Diocese of Kisumu, someone (Ruto) took a vehicle to the bishop as a gift. When the Pope was informed that the Archbishop had received a car gift, he [Pope Francis] ordered that the vehicle is returned. And, true to his instruction, the car was returned because it was acquired from proceeds of corruption," claims Odinga.

“We know where that person (Ruto) stays, what he earns and what his wife earns. Where does he get the millions of shillings that he dishes out in churches? A time has come when every corrupt person should carry his own cross,” adds Raila.

Odinga's claims appear to have angered Ruto, who has dismissed claims that the vehicle was acquired from proceeds of crime.

“The master of deceit as always is spewing desperate lies. The car gift was bought by Christian leaders including UK (Uhuru Kenyatta) and myself at the request of the chair of Catholic MPs."

"Understandably Empowering the church offends magicians and the evil spirits they worship. Shetani ashindwe!” Ruto says in a tweet.

However, Archbishop Anyolo has denied Odinga's claims that he received instructions from the Pope to return the car.

Speaking to Citizen TV, the clergyman says he did not need the Sh4 million Mitsubishi Pajero, and has therefore donated it to another institution that needs it more than he does.

Bishop Anyolo explains that by the time Ruto gifted him the vehicle, he already had a brand new Toyota Land Cruiser V8 given to him by Catholic believers.

“The institution where I donated the Pajero is free to sell the vehicle and use proceeds from the sale to better the society," he states.

Ruto gifted Anyolo the high-end car during his installation as Kisumu Archbishop at Uzima College Grounds about two months ago.

To receive a suspicious gift from a well doubted Thomas is like possessing a stolen good.

Finally, the man of faith overcome the power of "sheteni ashindwe" is a good learning example to others which lasts for ever.

It's now obvious our presidency have failed us abundantly while embarking on materialistic world instead of the people first. There have been so little or real effort to combat corruption so far.

Thus its time for the people of Kenya to take it to the streets to demand EXECUTIVE ORDER to curb corruption. As we all know, in the judicial circus will never get a single proof whatsoever in any looted or newer scandals.

If the streets will not work then we might as well legalize corruption in Kenya. GOOD LUCK!!

From the statement
“The master of deceit as always is spewing desperate lies. The car gift was bought by Christian leaders including UK (Uhuru Kenyatta) and myself at the request of the chair of Catholic MPs."
It seems there were desperate lies all the same. But does the explanation on who contributed for the car exonerate the claim that there were proceeds of corruption involved? The rebuttal should include distancing himself with the larger sin implied in Baba's barbs-Corruption.

I thought he was advised to stop kumangamanga and kutangatanga.
Mount Kenya needs answers to Kiambaa church torching and massacre.
We have not forgotten and we shall not forget.
No amount of harambee or funeral appearances can erase the horrors of 2007/2008.
Keep on looting Kenya and see where you will end up.
