Family of 7-Year-Old Boy Run Over by DP Ruto’s Convoy Cries Foul

The family of a seven-year-old Kenyan boy who died after being run over by a car in Deputy President William Ruto’s convoy a month ago says Ruto is yet to fulfill his promise to them.

Sidney Mambala died while undergoing treatment at Busia County Referral Hospital a few hours after he was knocked down by the car in Budalang’i, Busia County on June 7th.

Following the boy’s death, DP Ruto allegedly promised to support his family by building them a house, finding a job for his father, Felix Mambala and boosting his mother, Elizabeth Akinyi’s salon business.

Speaking to Citizen TV on Saturday, Mr. Malamba said attempts to reach Ruto through the phone have been unsuccessful.

“Hajawahi receive simu. Napiga simu hazishikwi. Mimi nasikia uchungu sana kumpoteza mtoto wa kwanza,” Mambala, who lives with his family in a mud hut in Mulwanda village said.

When reached for comment, Ruto’s office said the family was yet to receive assistance since the matter is still pending in court.
However, the family said Ruto should fulfill his promise as he is responsible for the death of their son.

“DP afanye vile aliahidi. Kama hangekuja budalangi (Sidney) hangekufa,” Ms. Akinyi said.

On the day that Sidney died, DP Ruto tweeted: “Saddened by news of the passing on of Sidney Mambala Felix, a young and bubbly boy. Followed closely the situation after I was informed of the unfortunate incident and, now, deeply condole with the family of Mzee Mambala, his peers and friends for the grave loss of a loved one.”

What a sad story. This vulnerable and grieving family has been taken advantage of by the man who keeps crying 🐺 wolf ati others are out to eliminate him. He is the one who has eliminated a bunch of people including Kiambu church massacre. The lives of those lost in that church will haunt him forever and thats why he takes his looted money to church.

It is very unfortunate that Mr.Malamba lost his son,but to blame it on Ruto for going there is abit over stretched, and misplaced.Ruto as apolitician, and afree mwananchi could to anywhere he wants.
This was an accident like others,if it could have been avoided, Iam not in aposition to tell. However,if Ruto out of his kindness decided to help,he should not be pressured in to it.Even if he promised to help, the family of the lost child should be alittle patient.Yes I can understand their frustration for not getting hold of Ruto, but in due time, I do hope that Ruto will stand by his words and help out.

Nonsense. Rutos presence caused the boy’s death due to the negligence or carelessness of his employees and he is solely responsible for the compensation. You know if an aircraft crashes and kills a person on the ground it’s the airlines fault not the pilot even though they have the right to fly.

@wololo,wasRuto in the car that killed the boy?.Does Ruto pay for the convoy or the government?
Yes the airplane manufacture could be liable for negotiations negligence in your analogy. When is Ruto's negligence?.Did he make a faulty car that killed the boy?

Instead of giving millions to churches with stolen monies he should instead give some to the family of Malamba, this guy if elected Kenya is finished, but I hope he will be next in line after Rotich... Waiguru also should be eating beans na ngima
