"Walete Hata G4S": Ruto Says After Withdrawal of GSU Officers Guarding His Residence
Deputy President William Ruto has played down the move by the government to make changes to his security detail.
On Thursday, General Service Unit (GSU) officers guarding his residence were withdrawn and replaced by Administration Police officers, a move that triggered protests from Ruto and his allies.
But speaking during a church service in Bahati, Nakuru County on Sunday, Ruto termed the matter as a non-issue and inconsequential.
He stated that he does not mind even being guarded by G4S security guards if the withdrawn officers were redeployed to protect Kenyans and the country.
“We will make sure the nation is firm…wakulima wanatafuta…hii mambo ya GSU, AP ni mambo madogo sana tusipoteze wakati…Sina shida na AP wakikuja kusimamia mahali naishi…wale GSU kama kazi imepatikana ili Wakenya wapate usalama wacha wasaidie Wakenya pale,” Ruto said.
“Wanaweza leta ata G4S, there is no problem…tusilete migawanyiko kwa askari, tuache siasa duni.”
At the same time, Ruto dismissed calls by President Kenyatta and other leaders to resign from the government over his alleged displeasure with how it is being run.
Ruto argued that quitting from the government he helped form would be a betrayal to millions of Kenyans who voted for him.
“Nimepewa mawaidha, sijui nijiuzulu kuna matatizo kwa serikali…sasa nawaambia siku niliamua kutafuta uongozi nilijua kuna matatizo na shida ya kutatua…wakati unatafuta suluhu kama kiongozi unaweza kupata matatizo,” said Ruto.
“Itakuwa uwoga na aibu kubwa kwamba mimi nitatoroka kwa matatizo yaliyoko…itawezekanaje nitoroke? Ni usaliti mkubwa kwawale waliamka mapema kunipigia kura, ati kwa sababu kuna matatizo, mimi sikuchaguliwa kula ice cream…kujaribu kukwepa nitawasaliti mamilioni.”

I have Maasai morans guarding my home in Nairobi and they do such a wonderful job! I treat them like my brothers and as equals! And, they are the first ones to tell you to refer to them as Maasai morans! Great people indeed! My brother is married to a gorgeous Maasai girl! So I don’t understand what you damn problem is @ezzy!

Kwa nini siasa zinakubaliwa makanisani? Kanisa lolote linalowakubali wanasiasa kueneza porojo zao za siasa wakati wa ibada, lafaa kuanza kulipa kodi. Kwa nini? Linakusanya pesa kutoka kwa wananchi.

Sijui kwa nini haelewi ya kwamba, amepigwa msasa mpaka amekuwa mfuasi wa "mungu" wa Wayahudi. Kwa nini hafuati imani ya asili ya watu wake? Kila taifa ambalo wananchi wake hawajapigwa msasa (brainwashed) na pia wanajiheshimu hufanya mambo yafuatayo:-
1. Wanatumia majina ya asili yao.
2. Wanasema lugha ya sili yao
3. Wanafuata mila za asili yao.
4. Imani yao inatokana na asili yao.
Lakini, kwa sababu tunaishi kwenye dunia ya kuendelea mbele, ni lazima pia tutilie mkazo na kujifunza masomo ya MELTAS (mathematics, engineering, languages, technology, agriculture, sciences). Wahindi walitilia mkazo masomo ya MELTAS na sasa wamefaulu sana katika maisha yao ya kiteknolojia. Ajabu ni kuwa, wangali na majina yao ya asili, lugha zao za asili, mila zao za asili, na isitoshe, imani yao ya asili hata ingawa walitawaliwa na Waingereza kwa muda wa miaka 200.
Kasisi (Rev.) Samoei Arap Ruto ametumia nafasi yake kujijenga mwenyewe binafsi bila kujali kazi aliyochaguliwa kufanya. Tangu aapishwe kuwa makamu wa rais, amechukua nafasi hiyo kuanza siasa za kuchaguliwa rais 2022. Isitoshe, alichukua wakati huo kusoma na kumaliza masomo yake halafu akapokea shahada ya uzamivu (Ph.D).
Ningependa kuona siasa zote nchini na makanisani zikikomeshwa mara moja hasa wakati huu ambapo tunapambana na virusi vya korona - COVID-19.
Pia, ibada zote zafaa kupigwa marufuku kwa sababu zimekuwa njia mojawapo kubwa ya kueneza COVID-19.
