Sonko Barred from Publishing Defamatory Material Against Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu

Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu has obtained a court order barring her predecessor Mike Sonko from publishing any defamatory material against her.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Heston Nyaga on Friday restrained Sonko from posting any defamatory information against Kananu until her application is heard and determined.

“That pending the inter parties hearing and determination of this application, the respondents by themselves are hereby restrained by an order of temporary injunction from further writing, printing, publishing, circulating, disseminating or causing to be written, printed, published, circulated, disseminated in any manner whatsoever (electronically or on online platforms) any, audio and/or video recordings, words and statements that are defamatory and/or disparaging in any manner whatsoever to the applicant,” Magistrate Nyaga’s order reads.

“Take notice that any disobedience or non-observance of the order of the court on the 26th day of November 2021 served herewith will result in penal consequences to you and any other person(s) so disobeying and not observing the same.”

Kananu, who was sworn in as Nairobi Governor on November 16th, has sued Sonko and Thuru Nkatha for defamation. She accuses Sonko of sharing information meant to tarnish her name.

The matter is scheduled for an interparty hearing on December 3rd.

Sonko acts like a juvenile. It’s a mistake he was elected a governor in the first place. He is a crackpot.

It is very important for Kenyans to know the secret ins/outs of the elected officials!

There is no specific secret pertaining to people’s business! Let Sonko enlighten those Kenyans in the know!

Life must go on! No secrets that are too big to tell Kenyans! It’s our country and must know how it’s being managed!
