Radio Personality Njogu wa Njoroge Joins Ruto’s UDA Party, to Run for Njoro MP Seat

Popular Kameme FM radio presenter Njogu wa Njoroge has joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Njogu, who is quitting radio to venture into politics, was officially welcomed to the party by Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen residence on Friday.

“It is fulfilling to see more people — including our friends in the media like Njogu wa Njoroge na Nyawira — take their rightful position to be part of the conversation. UDA assures all those seeking seats of free, fair, and democratic nominations,” said Ruto.

Through Facebook, Njogu announced he will contest for the Njoro parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket in the forthcoming elections.

“There is time for everything as the good book of the Lord says, and as I transition to the next phase of my life I ask for your prayers and support,” he wrote.

“I paid a courtesy call on Deputy President William Ruto and assured him we will work together in UDA in spreading the message of Bottom-Up in Njoro constituency where I will be seeking the people's mandate to represent them in the National Assembly.”

Njogu, who has been a staunch supporter of President Kenyatta, started his media journey as a sports presenter at KBC in the 2000s before joining Kameme FM and later Inooro Fm in 2006. 

He later rejoined Kameme FM before moving to Radio Africa’s Gukena FM in 2014. In 2019, he returned to Kameme FM and TV station.
