Safaricom Named Best Company to Work for in Kenya

Safaricom has been ranked as the best company to work for in Kenya.

The giant mobile service provider took the top spot in the recently released LinkedIn 2022 Top Companies Ranking list. 

The list ranks the 25 best workplaces in the country for professionals to grow their careers.

The 25 companies were ranked based on the LinkedIn company data and ratings on seven factors including the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, and educational background.

"This award demonstrates our dedication as Safaricom to have a better world of work and this is exhibited through our excellent Human Resource policies and people practices," Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa said.

"Our ambition as a company is to become the number one employer in Kenya. We do this by providing our employees the opportunities and platforms to upskill themselves, while also creating a workplace that is inclusive and conducive for all."

Equity Bank was ranked as the second-best employer in the country followed by Kenya Airways, KCB Group, and NCBA Group.

Other companies in the top 10 list include ICEA Lion Group (6th), Allianz (7th), KPMG (8th), Standard Chartered Bank (9th), and PwC (10th).

Early this year, Safaricom was also named the top employer in Kenya and Africa by by the Top Employers Institute, a global authority on recognizing excellence in People Practices.

The telco was awarded for innovative practices and policies aimed at driving inclusion for people with disabilities at the Zero Project Award.
