ODM Issues a Ticket to Rabai MP William Kamoti's Younger Brother Following His Death

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has issued a nomination ticket to the late Rabai MP William Kamoti's younger brother following his death.
Kamoti, who was set to defend his seat in the August 9th elections on an ODM party ticket, had just been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) when he met his death on Sunday night.
He died on the spot after his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with another car in the Komaza area on the Kilifi-Mombasa highway.
The two-time MP was laid to rest at his home in Mwamruu village in Kilifi County on Monday evening in line with the Muslim customs.
ODM leader and Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi, and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho were among the leaders who attended his burial.
On Tuesday, the ODM party issued a nomination ticket to Kamoti’s younger brother Mohamed Mdigo Mwamkale, a former chairperson of the Mariakani town council, to vie for the Rabai parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections.
“We are waiting for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to clear him for us to announce that he is the ODM candidate,” Kilifi ODM Chairperson Teddy Mwambire said.
