Sh400 Million Graft Case Against Former Kenya Power Managing Director Ben Chumo Withdrawn

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has withdrawn the Sh400 million graft case against former Kenya Power Managing Director Ben Chumo and 10 others, citing a lack of evidence.
Haji withdrew the case on Wednesday under Section 87 (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Chumo and his co-accused had been charged with conspiracy to commit an offense, aiding the commission of a felony, willful failure to comply with procurement laws, conspiracy to defeat justice and fraudulent acquisition of public property.
His co-defendants included his successor Ken Tarus, Beatrice Meso, K.P Mungai, Joshua Mutua, Abubakar Swaleh, Samuel Ndirangu, Stanley Mutwiri, Benson Muriithi, Peter Mwicigi and John Ombui.
The charges related to the procurement and supply of faulty transformers worth more than Sh400 million.
The move comes months after the DPP also withdrew charges against the directors of Muwa Trading Company Ltd, James Njenga Mungai, Grace Wanjira Mungai and John Mungai in March. The company was accused of supplying faulty transformers to KPLC.

The DPP and state counsels should not bother on finding evidence on such cases but to await for instructions from above. This is a typical spring of the Moi era which polarizing other independent office for the sake of covering up bigger corruption to come.

But this is the kind of Nonesense you get from Kalenjin leadership.
A combination of Kikuyu & Kalenjin will always result in a criminal society.

LSK if timidly barking. They have given DPP- Haji an ultimatum to tell them why these cases are being dropped. But Iam convinced their bark is worse than their bite. Where were they when the judge allowed Ongili ,the gun slinger to buy paltry house for the victim he almost shot to death in exchange for freedom .That's not justice. How many with Ongili's comparable crime are still languishing in jail?

Still the power is with the people. Somehow Kenyans are either docile or waiting for all this mess to reach critical mass before they act.Massive demonstration has been known to fell governments.

For those like Asista and deportee, is this what you were going for in supporting Ruto? It will only get worse. That dude that looks like the love child of 50 cent and Alvin from the chipmunks never did anything for Mathīra but steal. Ruto was complicit in arson and murder and is also a known thief. Kenya will be broke and its economy ashes by the time these two are done with it. But you get the government you deserve.

I told you so. The second Moi era just began. Expect tribalism to the max, corruption at every level. How the f**k do you dismiss graft cases just by a stroke of a pen. Thousand and thousand of manpower hours have been invested to bring this cases to the court. Ruto and his corrupt government has decided to drop all the graft cases against his supporters ?????? This is just the beginning . You will be sorry. Poor Kenyans. Buckle up. I just saw impunity around the corner. She is coming for you.
