Kiambu Politician Arrested After Husband’s Body is Found Wrapped in Plastic Bag and Dumped in a Forest

Kiambu politician Gladys Chania has been arrested in connection with the death of her husband George Mwangi whose body was found wrapped in a plastic bag and dumped in Kieni Forest in Gatundu North on Wednesday.

Police said Chania, a former Kiambu Woman Representative aspirant, is the prime suspect in her husband’s murder, Nation reported. Four other suspects are in police custody.

Kiambu Police Commander Perminus Kioi says preliminary investigations determined that Mwangi was killed in their house and later dumped in the forest, disputing Chania’s claim that her husband walked downstairs on Sunday and disappeared.

Chania, a former Kiambu TNA party coordinator, filed a missing person’s report at Kamwangi police station and later that evening at Mwea police post.

Mwangi, an electrical engineer and road contractor based in Rwanda’s capital of Kigali, arrived in the country on September 13th and was scheduled to fly out on Tuesday next week.

Chania told police that her husband went downstairs on Sunday morning and then disappeared from their home in Mangu, Kiambu. County.

"My husband was alive on Sunday morning. He went downstairs and never came back. He did not carry his mobile phone and in the evening when he failed to show up, the next day I reported the matter at Kamwangi police station and later at Mwea police post, which is within my jurisdiction,’’ Chania said as quoted by Nation.

“We have been married for 24 years and have three children. He had not expressed any fear for his life.”

Detectives said initial investigations show the deceased was hit on the head with a blunt object and his face disfigured with acid.

The only comment is what a gruesome, brutal and inhumane way he died! May he RIP.

No one has a right to take away an innocent and non threatening life. Killing ain’t gonna solve any problem.

Ummmm Correction... He walked down the stairs after telling you he found another sweet Rwandese lady to spend the rest of her life with and you couldn't stomach that- Lesson. Walio katika ndoa ACHANENI MDOGO MDOGO. Pray, Seek marital counseling, Pray some more and if it doesn't work WACHANENI. Stop clinging to what you don't know. If it wasn't meant to be forever- take it like a grown up and MOVE ON!
