Police in Ruiru, Kiambu County are detaining a pastor in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old woman.
Christopher Kiptum Keter, who has been on the run since February 8th after allegedly killing Christine Makena Maingi, was flushed out of his hideout in Embakasi's Mukuru kwa Njenga slums on Tuesday.
Kiptum, 50, was the last person to be seen with the deceased before she was discovered dead two days later in a residential building in the Gathogora area of Ruiru on February 8th.
CCTV footage and mobile phone communications obtained by detectives revealed that the two were together on the nights of February 5th and 6th.
Detectives found drugs at the scene of the crime and it was initially thought that the deceased took her own life through an overdose but an autopsy determined she died due to strangulation.
Investigations revealed that the suspect and the deceased met regularly at Christine’s home where she lived with her parents. At the time of the incident, the family members had traveled upcountry.
Family members said Christine introduced the suspect as a pastor and they would regularly meet for prayer sessions. The two first met on a journey from Mombasa to Nairobi earlier this year.
The suspect is in police custody awaiting arraignment on Thursday to face murder charges.
Christine was laid to rest on February 18th in Meru County.
Fake pastor-A true pastor, meaning God's servant should know better than take someone's life, then cowardly hideaway. Those prayers must have been directed at the devil,as we can see the evil fruits.Yes actions speak louder than words. The longer the action, the more believable, the words. Some of these fake pastors wake up one day and proclaim that they have acalling to be pastor...Dont buy in to it.Wait for at least 3 years, and see he is true to his words; by his actions.
The CREATOR designed all forms of life: visible and invisible. Who told these fake impostors and conmen (popes, pastors, bishops, and the rest that the CREATOR wants their services?
