Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika on Friday, May 26, addressed the media inquiries about her disappearance from the limelight.
In her response, Kihika questioned why her absence from the public eye was a major concern. She stressed that her duties to the county were paramount and that progress had continued in Nakuru even during her stint away from the spotlight. She did not clarify her disappearance from the limelight, which has since sparked speculation.
"I understand that they have to sell their media productions. I'm at work," Kihika stated.
Prior to releasing her submission, Kihika posted images of construction projects on her social media accounts, displaying her trust in her team. She stated that she was performing her Gubernatorial duty and emphasized that she recognised the interest of the people of Nakuru County.
"Another borehole done. Another fulfilled promise. Water for Kiambiriria residents in Turi Ward, Molo Sub-county," Kihika noted.
On Tuesday, May 23rd, a press article raised questions about the noticeable absence of the Nakuru Governor. The report conveyed that the vocal governor was last seen on April 10, 2023, at a conference arranged by the Council of Governors. Subsequently, Kihika failed to attend important occasions in her county, such as Bishop Cleophas Oseso Tuka's induction into the Nakuru Catholic Diocese, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's engagement with Nakuru MPs and a tour guided by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
Insiders claimed that she went overseas for an official purpose. However, this view could not be justified.
