Government Invites Kenyans to Own Homes with Ksh16,000 Monthly Rent in Nakuru

The completion of Affordable Housing units in the Bondeni area of Nakuru County has been announced by the Ministry of Lands.

The opportunity to acquire these units is now available to Kenyans. There are two options to choose from: a two-bedroom or three-bedroom apartment. The price for a two-bedroom unit is Ksh3.1 million, while a three-bedroom unit costs Ksh4.5 million. However, if individuals are unable to pay the full amount upfront, they have the option to rent-to-own.

Individuals who wish to acquire a two-bedroom unit will be required to pay a monthly rent of Sh16,997 until they have paid the full amount set by the government. For those who prefer the three-bedroom units, the monthly rent will be Sh22,933. The Ministry has set aside a total of 380 spaces for both types of units. Before commencing the application process, it is highly recommended that prospective purchasers pay a visit to the location and survey the available homes.

The establishment boasts a range of convenient features, including a designated play area for children, a borehole, a medical facility, a communal gathering space, a dining establishment, and retail stores. Additionally, the residences are equipped with a backup power source and feature well-maintained driveways made of cabro paving.

"Prospective purchasers are invited to visit the Bondeni housing site to view the houses and register to purchase on the Boma Yangu Portal," read the notice in part.

President William Ruto is urging leaders from diverse political affiliations to support his endeavours in guaranteeing food security, creating job opportunities, and delivering universal healthcare to all citizens of Kenya. He emphasizes that the absence of these fundamental necessities has impeded the nation's advancement. President Ruto underscores that without making difficult choices, the country's transformation will continue to elude them.

He highlights the achievements of countries like Malaysia, Singapore, and Korea, which were once at a similar stage of development as Kenya but have now attained First World status. President Ruto shared these thoughts during his visit to Kamagut Primary School in Uasin Gishu County where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of junior and secondary schools. He urged leaders to prioritize the well-being of Kenyans by supporting initiatives that create job opportunities for the people.
