Raila Rejects New October 26th Election Date, Says it's President Uhuru's Birthday Gift

Raila Odinga has once again rejected the fresh October 26th date announced by the Independent and Electoral Commission (IEBC) for the repeat presidential election.

The former Prime Minister further maintained that there will ne np election in the aforementioned day because IEBC has continued to ignore NASA's demands.

On Friday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati announced the new date saying they needed to analyse the Supreme Court verdict and its implications to help them fully prepare for the poll.

Speaking in a press briefing on Friday, the Orange Democratic Movement leader alleged the new date was proposed by French Biometrics firm, Safran Morpho, a service provider for KIEMS that they want kicked out.

"With every passing day it is getting clear that our conditions will not be met and so there will be election. We will not allow Uhuru Kenyatta to take our country down the path of failed nations."

Raila claimed that Jubilee politicians proposed the approved date which coincides with President Uhuru's 56th birthday.

"They want to give Uhuru a birthday gift there is no election on 26th,".

"IEBC must invite all stakeholders for consultations. They gazetted the first date without consultation and they have made the same mistake again," he said at the NASA Secretariat office in Lavington, Nairobi.

Raila's remarks were seconded by co-principal Moses Wetangula who rubbished Attorney General Githu Muiga's statement that there is no constitutional vacuum. Earlier in the day, Muigai said Uhuru is legally in office and will remain president until the swearing-in of another elected President.

"If a fresh election will not have been conducted by September 1, Uhuru will no longer be the President. National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi will, in that case, be a caretaker president for 90 days when a fresh election will be held in accordance with the constitution," he said.

"The AG is no fool. He is just being mischievous and dishonest...we are telling him not to play that game on Kenyans. Let him speak the truth."

Who is Raila? The God or the Lord Almighty of Kenya? Elections must go on; we cannot be held hostage by one stupid, naïve individual. Cry baby all the time. What kind of leadership would Kenyans expect from this moron? Kenya must reject this stupidity. Ati, birthday. Go jump in Lake Victoria and drown.

There will have to be an election and both parties should come to an agreement on a suitable date. Raila stop acting like a spoilt brat as it does not appear that some officials in IEBC will be sent home as per your demands. Pick your battles remember 4 supreme court judges literally risked their lives in annuling the élections. With time both Uhuru and arap kipindupindu are getting undone as evident in their twitter comments. We have already lost Chris Musando let his death not be in vain. Humble yourself and meet with IEBC you must agree for the sake of your followers. Do not hand Jubilee the victory on the 26th by boycotting the élections. Just give Uhuru the best birthday present that is early retirement.

Some individuals I know that were initially strong Raila supporters have started moving over to the other side. I am quite surprised that very little support is coming lately from Turkana, Kambaland, Coast, Maasailand, Kisii and Luhyaland - at least explicitly. I speculate that when all is said and done, Raila will be left standing on some "isolated island" with a few of his mostly Luo diehards. Kalonzo looks quite non committal these days, besides of course holding that embarrassing begging bowl of an Mpesa sign.

Raila knows the agony of a defeat and is not going to rush to another one. He is calculating and will push the boundaries as far as the institutions, public and his competitor allow. He knows the psychology of a competitive game-drain you opponent emotionally as much as possible. He pokes his competitors with all manner of things with a mathematical precision. And every time JP responds, he controls the conversation and scores in public domain. Such men of words will bend all rules and regulations and walk a very thin line taunting JP to come paint in big strokes-and Yipee!! they nasa become victims. I cry a river over you my JP; when you play catch up and respond rather than being proactive.

Payuka! Payuka!! And more payuka!!! If RAO truly believens that October 26 was set to "give Uhuru a birthday gift",then if he is a man worth his salt, let him spoil the birthday party by winning the repeat election. Otherwise, he should keep his puking mouth shut! We are all sick and tired of hearing this divisive demagogue endlessly complain about this and that without ever once addressing the plight of the common Wananchi. As five brave members of the Luo community eloquently stated in a one-page open letter to Raila in the People Daily, "Kenyan (Luo) Lives Matter." This self-serving reckless demagogue must find a better way to win the presidency -- not merely endless payuka, payuka and more payuka!!!
