Babu Owino to Spend Second Night in Custody

Embakasi East Member of Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino will spend another night in custody following his arrest on Monday evening.

The newly elected MP was on Tuesday morning charged with teo accounts of subversion and uttering abusive words against President Uhuru, where he pleaded not guilty whole appearing before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi at the Milimani Law Court.

The prosecution requested the court to deny bail to the MP. Prosecution lawyer Nicholas Mutuku said the MP has four previous charges of similar nature and the gravity of the offence Owino faces is a compelling reason not to grant him bail.

In reply, Owino's lawyer James Orengo urged the court to look at the evidence before him and not what the prosecutions imagines, adding that the charges are defective. He said presidency is not a public officer and amorphous, and can run into scores of people.

The Court will on Wednesday rule on his bond application. Babu will, however, be transferred from Pangani Police Station to Kileleshwa.

Good decision by the Judge. Kihii Babu Owino belongs to Jail. Let's see what the Lord of Poverty Raila Odinga can do for him since he is now in Jail. He deserve seven years in jail for cursing our Mom Ngina Kenyatta and disrespecting our President His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta.

@Guest1, there is a great difference between kiguoya and insults. This lad is not introducing any policies but kutukana ile baya sana. Better Wanjala who want to introduce policy that will take care of all his wives and girlfriends than just matusi tupu. I may not agree with Wanjala policies but he is talking in a mature and respectful way

Uhuru is an extension of the Nyayo era. That's why we see him thinking and acting the way he does. I suggested to him that he can get free advice from Mwai Kibaki and Barack Obama how to lead literate people like the present Kenyans. Can you imagine until Biwott died, Uhuru was continuously getting advice from Kipkorios Toroitich Arap Moi and Kipyator Biwott. During the funeral of Biwott, Uhuru said that he will protect the (stolen) wealth of Biwott.

We see evidence of his continuing with Nyayo (Kenyatta - Toroitich) era again. During this era, people disappeared and were never seen again alive! We see the same thing happening again.

One of the things all Kenyans must be vigilant is to make sure that he (Uhuru)is out of office come 2022. We must keep a record of what he says and does on a daily basis. That way, when he lives office, he will be prosecuted for all the challenging things that he did while in office.

Every patriotic and peace loving Kenyan must be an activist. We must protect our land and nation from our current opportunists (Uhuru and Ruto) who remained silent as people were arrested, prosecuted, jailed, and some killed by the government of Nyayo during the second liberation of Kenya!

Long live the Republic of Kenya without Uhuru or Raila in our state house.

Just one night and he wears a babu face? choice have consequences. And on a good day in court, this guy should a taste of behind bars (away from the lounge bars he frequents).

The Kenyan authority should take the prevailing opportunity to circumcise this rand(Kihii). He will come out a good man and a good Citizen who will then start respecting elders and elected officials. The Bible warns about rands(ihii). Our civilized African cultures warns us about them too. In Jews culture they are considered unclean and cannot serve in Knesset. Kenya is a Christian country that believes in the value of the Bible. This rand and his fellow politicians who have not gone through the knife are unclean and should not be allowed to hold political posts. The State House and the corridors of Kenyan Parliament have no place for the rands(ihii's}.
