Gov't Wants Billionaire Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi Barred from Traveling Abroad

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Keriako Tobiko is seeking orders from the court to have embattled billionaire businessman Jimmy Wanjigi and his wife, Irene Nzisa barred from traveling abroad.

In a submission filed by senior assistant DPP Victor Mule, the office of DPP further said it was not opposed to the Sh50,000 bail granted to the businessman, but wants it raised due to “the nature and seriousness of the offences” involving illegal firearms under investigation.

Mule wants the two compelled to deposit their travel documents in court and must seek authority before traveling outside country. “Owing to the seriousness of the offences under investigations, Mr Wanjigi and his wife should be ordered not to leave the country without prior notification to the National Police Service, Directorate of Criminal Investigations and authorization by the court,” Mr Mule said. “The cash bail of Sh50,000 granted by the court is inordinately low compared to the offences under investigations,".

The controversial businessman is under investigation in connection to a number of illegal firearms found in a villa in Malindi believed to be his.

Wanjigi was last week granted temporary orders barring police from arresting and searching his home and was further issued with an anticipatory bail of Sh50,000.

Mule also told the court that the orders it granted Wanjigi on October 17, had derailed the probe on the businessman. He further wants the court to compel Wanjigi to cooperate with investigators and present himself for questioning if required to.

Ati bail of 50k what a joke. These prosecutors are taking us for a ride. NASA has infiltrated judiciary big time. After the elections are done it will be time to take a closer look at the prosecutors and how lawyers like Orengo continue to win all their cases.

Did I read that right???????? This guy was granted a 50k bail???? I bet he spend more than that when he takes his friend Raila out to eat. What a joke seriously. The government of Uhuru has been taken for a ride for the last four years. Nasa and the inciter in chief are laughing all the way. They are always a step ahead of Uhuru and his party. The Judiciary is completely under Nasa. You can't even get a favorable ruling in the court system. Wake up Mr. Uhuru. Open your eyes and ears. You are being played everywhere.

I see that Kenya has now new associate presidents. These two new associate presidents are President Matiang'i and President Tobiko.

Uhuru where are you? Your presidency is being chipped slowly by the members of your Jubilee alliance.
