Youths Disrupt former US-Based Scholar Calestous Juma's Burial as they Attempt to 'Swear-in' Raila by Force

The burial ceremony of former US-based scholar Calestous Juma at Bumina village in Budalang’i on Saturday was briefly disrupted after a group of National Super Alliance (Nasa) youth supporters attempted to swear-in opposition leader Raila Odinga by force.

Raila, in company of Nasa co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula had attended the burial of late Professor Juma, who was until his death a lecturer at Harvard University in the US.

However, moments after Foreign affairs CS Amina Mohamed and her Environment counterpart Judy Wakhungu jointly read president Kenyatta's speech, the youths stormed the stage carrying a Bible demanding to administer an Oath to Odinga.

When Odinga was invited to give his speech, the youth began chanting 'baba baba' slogans and demanded he takes the Oath, a move that was backed by Busia Woman Representative Florence Mutua.

Mutua said: "We want you to be sworn in as soon as possible so that our country can progress and move on. We don't care where our statehouse will be, even if it will be at the garage we don't care as long us we have as president."

She added: "We wish you could take the oath before you officially launch the Western people's assembly."

After calming down the youths, Raila said: "You have all seen them giving me a bible, but I have told them that will be another day. For now I want to assure all Kenyans that our journey to Canaan is on course whether they like it or not."

Utter disrespect for the deceased and his family! If I was the next of kin, would have thrown them out pronto! Stealing the spotlight from the Professor's last day of respect. Aibu.

Somewhere along the road of etiquette ,something went terribly wrong.Funerals were never aplace to discus politics, but now days, they seem to take the center stage. This has to stop. Just like we would not like a politician "politickying" in our weddings,we should not let them do it in funerals,of all places.Lets give agood respectful send off to the dead.
Infact, the center stage if any, would be better served if the men on the cloth were in control.Looks like the men of the cloth have taken aback seat. Time to move to the front.

I have lost a few loved ones in the last few years and I could never imagine this type of circus hijacking last respects. Every time I think people have scrapped the bottom when it comes to respect, I am proven wrong.

Ojinga has no respect even for the dead because he thrives on the sight and smell of blood and seeing dead bodies.
He wears his hat even when prayers are being said for the dead.Oh how I wish this 73 year old luo lad would drop dead and leave Kenyans to move on with their daily business and forever remain peaceful without the mention of his name. Please God do something!

Ojinga suffers from clinical narcissism.
A study on narcissism has found that this personality trait is linked with overconfident decision making, deceit, being liars, selfish, greedy and failing to learn from errors.
Narcissists make better decisions in situations where they encounter misleading information. Narcissists expect themselves to do well. They may feel more motivated to reach the goal because they view the task as an opportunity for self-enhancement and fulfilment of ego.
Ojinga is a narcissist.
Treatment can help, but this condition can't be cured since the disorder makes the person have an inflated sense of self importance.
