Five Key Issues Discussed During Uhuru-Raila Meeting at Harambee House

President Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Friday announced the creation of a unity office as a way forward in the new charter aimed at uniting Kenyans.

In an agreement signed after a meeting at Harambee House on Friday between the two, Ambassador Martin Kimani and Lawyer Paul Mwangi were appointed to head the unity office, which has been tasked to spearhead the implementation of their shared objectives.

The agreement has five main objectives namely; ethnic antagonism, devolution, inclusivity, corruption and divisive elections.

Ethnic antagonism: The two leaders vowed to urge Kenyans, political leaders and formations to shun ethnic profiling.

Inclusivity: Uhuru and Odinga committed to fight hard for inclusivity and make sure in an accountable and impactful way, public institutions work to deliver to all Kenyans at the national and county level and that all Kenyans are served equally no matter who leads them.

Devolution: The two leaders promised to work to bring all the counties together regardless of the political affiliation, ensure counties deliver to the people and hold county governments accountable to the people.

Divisive Elections: The leaders committed to ensure that the country holds elections that are not marred by mistrust and conflict. The two promised to hold competitive and constructive elections.

Corruption: The leaders promised to support efforts to support whistle blowing from all Kenyans further urging all citizens to report the vice loudly.

Moral of this story, don't sell your soul to political leaders or you risk loosing yourself in the end. In addition, if you can't beat them, join them. Finally birds of a feather will flock together.

I have totally different opinion of why it happened. First and foremost it is a tactical move by Raila Odinga to regain relevancy in Kenyan politics. Secondly, Raila want to position himself as the person who has wisdom and vision to succeed Uhuru when leaves office in 2022. The Raila that emerged today has been transformed by the events of the last few months. He realizes that the so called "people's President" is an utopian dream that cannot be achieved in the current political climate. He also realizes that he can longer count on his NASA partners to support him in 2022 since they will also be vying for seat. He also realize that his isolation by Western governments may soon land him in no-fly list. In summary Raila realizes that he has lost the battle with Uhuru and now he has to take it with Ruto for 2022 Presidency as a rebranded Raila. The biggest loser in this newfound unity between Raila and Uhuru is Ruto. This is why: The agreement they reached has five main objectives namely; ethnic antagonism, devolution, inclusivity, corruption and divisive elections. The agreement favors Raila for a 2022 election if Kenya can emerge as envisioned by the agreement. First it will break Kikuyu-Kalenjin alliance and create a Kikuyu, Kalenjin, Luo, Luyua, Kissi, Kamba, Turkana, Miji Kenda, Somali, Masai -44 tribes-alliance in which Raila has majority of support over Ruto. Kikuyus loyalty is in Kalenjin but Kalenjin land is divided between the camp of Gideon Moi and William Ruto who will battle it out and divide the Kalenjins along Nadi, Tugen and other sub groups. Two statements were issued this week by two different people that suggested there was something cooking on behind the scene. The first one was issued by President Uhuru when he said he will go home in 2022 and leave the aspirant to battle it out instead of saying he will back Ruto as he usually say. The second one was issued by Duale when he warned Jubilee leaders opposed to Ruto becoming President in 2022 that they will be crashed. There is something going on in Kenya but again never underestimate Raila will to become President of Kenya

Babu Owino was right. This is what he said on March 6, 2017:

"Babu Owino, who recently had his election as Embakasi East Member of Parliament nullified by the High Court, says that they are friends with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria.

Speaking during an interview with NASA online TV on Monday, Owino criticised Kenyans for hating each other because of ethnic and political differences.

Babu said that it was unfortunate that Kenyans act in that manner, when the politicians they fight and hate each other for are friends and business partners.

The former University of Nairobi student leader further noted that, contrary to believe of many that he and Kuria are enemies, he has good relationship with him. Babu said he even carries Kuria home when he finds him "in a bar very drunk."

"Politicians are never that tribal. When we are in parliament we talk well (to each other). Moses Kuria at times I find him in a bar very drunk. I am the one who carries him and takes him to his house," Babu said.

"I carry him with my security, I take him to his house in Westlands. I have done that. Let him deny that in public. We as politicians don't hate each other," Owino said."

THANK YOU BABU OWINO FOR YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM.

Keep fooling them Raila. They can cry foul but at this time, it is “EVERY DOG FOR ITSELF”. The mission of these fools was to politically destroy you and your legacy. Now, they are aimlessly swimming in the dusty and they cannot find a way out. They trusted you blindly.

This might be Raila's plan to destabilize Jubilee. He wants the trust between Central and Rift valley washed away

By all means ODM/ NASA should stay in the opposition and not try to negotiate for Mkate nusu. UhuRuto plase do not poison your government by suspicious alliances. Learn from how Rao tried to bring Kibaki down from inside.

Listen to the rage, disappointment, disbelief.....ha, ha, ha... music to my ears after those righteous insults hurled at Uhuru or anyone who dared support him. Would love to be a fly on the wall around NASA supporters, most penniless after selling their personal belonging to support the dream of Canaan. Ujinga kweli hauna dawa, wahenga kasema!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGuZsKS_zaI

BTW, After more than 40 months of wandering in wilderness of boycotts, secession talk, resist, street demos, swearing ins, etc, nasa has finally arrived at Canaan-which surprisingly turns out to be Jubilee camp!
