President Kenyatta, Raila to Hold Joint Tour in Nyanza

President Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga will hold a joint tour to Nyanza region, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has said.

Speaking during a fundraiser at Sirembe Mixed Secondary School in Gem constituency, Wamalwa said the two will launch a water project in Siaya County, but did not disclose when it will happen.

The Sh2.1 billion water project is being undertaken by the national government in collaboration with African Development Bank (ADB). When complete, the project will supply over 190,000 residents with clean and safe water.

He hailed the handshake between the President and the ODM leader, noting that it will create a suitable environment needed for the country to realise development.

“We should not let anything divide us again. The unity of purpose is our course and should be our focus henceforth to bring prosperity to our country and move it forward. Things have changed and most development projects have kicked off,” he added.

“It is my wish as the CS in charge of devolution to see the golden handshake between the two leaders embraced even in counties. I am happy that the parliamentarians are already endorsed the code between former   Prime Minister Raila and President Uhuru,” said Wamalwa who was flanked by Kieni East MP Kanini Kega and former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo.

The Kenyan Government should recall its ambassador to Israel following the genocide that Netanyahu has inflicted to the Palestinians.

When the British occupied many countries of the world, they gave Kenya to the Jews in 1902. Some Jews came and settled in Kenya but majority did not want to. Had they accepted, Kenyans would be going through what Palestinians have endured for the last 70 years after they were pushed away with the "hitlerized" Jews who are doing to Palestinians what the Germans did to them.

Let us not forget that Israel supported the apartheid regime in South Africa. Today, the president of South Africa has recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv in sympathy with the people of Palestine.

I ask President Uhuru and his co president Raila to recall the Kenyan ambassador to Israel immediately. In solidarity with the Palestinians, all the members of the AU should recall their ambassadors to Israel and break diplomatic relations with Israel until Israel adheres to the UN resolutions 242 and 338.
