Nairobi County Assembly to Vet Miguna Miguna for Deputy Governor Post

Speaker Beatrice Elachi now says embattled lawyer Miguna Miguna will be vetted and approved by the Nairobi County Assembly once he returns to the country.

Speaking in Mombasa on Saturday, Elachi, who was accompanied by Nairobi Ward Representatives said the assembly will conduct the crucial process because Miguna is the Governor's choice for Deputy Governor post.

In an apparent change of mind from her earlier remarks, where she stated that the fiery politician must first  sort out his citizenship problems with the State, the Speaker said Miguna has a right to be nominated and the assembly will perform its duty.

"On the day he comes back, we will vet him. We have no choice... I mean, he is the Governor's choice ... we will respect that," Elachi said during a retreat of the Nairobi Assembly Liaison Committee at Flamingo Hotel.

Elachi will table Miguna's name before the County Assembly once members resume from the ongoing recess. Sonko announced he had picked the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant for the position in a letter to the speaker last week.

The speaker also asked President Kenyatta to intervene and help end the alleged feud between Governor Sonko and some senior government officials.

"We can then agree on the way forward," she said. "We have had enough between the Governor and the Secretary(Karanja Kibicho). Uhuru should now intervene and end the fight between Sonko and senior officials within government."

Political gamesmanship at play here. Miguna will be confirmed; then he will become the new head look of the Luo nation.

I can't believe what I am reading. This is a big joke fronted by functional literate Sonko. Electing Miguna Miguna as a deputy governor of Nairobi is traverse to Justice. This retard is not a Kenyan in the first place. Secondly, he has declared himself head of a terrorist organization. This is mockery of justice. It is very wrong to reward such divisive terrorist with such position. Sonko is acting on the behest of Ruto to counter Raila at the expense of people of Nairobi

Let us have the courage to look back at a very important institution: IEBC. It is this institution that cleared many candidates with closets full of rattling skeletons to run for an elective public office.

More than 90% of the candidates who ran for office were not fit or qualified. Lawyer Miguna Miguna was cleared to run and just a few months after the election, the same crooked government that issued him with a valid Kenyan passport and a national ID arrested him, confiscated his valid Kenyan Passport and later deported him.

The same people who refused to follow court orders about Miguna (Bonnetti, Kihalangwa, and Matiang'i) injected him with drugs and deported him to Canada through Dubai a second time. The three criminals and thugs are still in office, employed in the same corrupt government.

After the election, it is now business as usual: LOOTING! The current looters will be cleared by the same "crooked IEBC" and will be re-elected again in 2022 to continue with what they know best: LOOTING!
