President Kenyatta Spotted with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho in France

President Kenyatta and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho have been spotted together at the ongoing Paris Peace Forum in France.

This is the latest proof that the famous March 9th handshake between Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga is bearing fruits.

Until the handshake happened, Kenyatta and Joho did not see each other eye to eye and often times engaged in bitter wars of words.

On two occasions, police blocked Joho from attending President Kenyatta's functions in Mombasa.

"Mwambieni asituchezee...sisi tutamnyorosha (he should not joke with us...we will deal with him). "Ananifuatia nini...Mimi sio bibi yake...(Why is he following me everywhere. I am not his wife)," a fiery Uhuru said last year.

The two have since buried the hatchet and pledged to work together.

Speaking at the Paris forum on Sunday, President Uhuru says Kenya hopes to achieve 100 per cent transition to green energy by 2020.

“Our target is to attain 100 per cent green energy sufficiency by 2020. We will do this while we achieve 100 per cent access to power for our population, and sharply lower costs to industry to aid our manufacturing push,” President Kenyatta says.

He has also urged industrialized countries to support investments in green energy in Africa in order to prevent effects of climate change while creating employment opportunities.

“To do even more, we need support from the Green Climate Fund and other mechanisms to enhance our green energy capabilities and accelerate adaptation and mitigation of the impact of climate change."
