President Kenyatta Visits Retired President Moi After Death of His Son Jonathan

President Kenyatta has on Monday paid retired President Daniel Arap Moi a visit at his rural home in Kabarak, Nakuru County.

Kenyatta has made the visit to personally convey his message of condolence to Moi following the death of his son Jonathan Toroitich.

“On behalf of himself and the Government of Kenya, President Uhuru Kenyatta said he was greatly saddened by the death of Jonathan,” says Moi’s press secretary and personal assistant Lee Njiru, in a statement.

President Uhuru has been received in Kabarak by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

Jonathan, a Safari Rally enthusiast, succumbed to cancer at a hospital in Nakuru on Saturday.

The 66-year-old participated in several Safari Rally competitions before hanging his boots.

He stayed away from the public limelight since he unsuccessfully run for Eldama Ravine parliamentary seat in 2002 and chose to focus on running his businesses in the agriculture, real estate, and insurance sectors.

He was the first-born son of Moi and his late wife Lena.

Poleni! With all that money stashed away and that décor is the best they can do. A bathroom rug underneath a coffee table? Now, I know I am being petty, lakini these leaders have stolen and rigged the country dry, so they should not try to imitate the poverty lived by most people. I would respect them more if they reflected their greed. At least Sonko dons gold shoes, or so goes the gossip.

My guess is that it is his pee rug as he sits there looking like a mannequin. Perhaps hes been embalmed or mummified. The other day they dressed him in what looked like a blouse. Personally I do not understand why the press gives this man coverage.

anyway let them mourn their son in peace but I have no sympathy for them after all what they did to this country. they looted soo much I guess cancer knows no money but I still don't understand why they didn't seek the best medical help money could buy. they have the money they can literally pay. Jimmy Cater got healed

@JustMe..jamani mungu atusamehe. Lakini it makes me mad when I see these rich dudes living like they are poor, not to mention that, that image of an improvised coffee table takes me back to my less than happy days when my poor mama had to break her back to keep us fed! As I recall, Moi and his looting sons were busy eating "mkate ya matoa toa" whilst the majority of us woke up to mandazi na uji if we were lucky! No, that rug is nasty and the coffee table is just awful!
