MP Mohammed Ali Accuses US Fast-Food Chain KFC of Selling Bad Food to Kenyans
Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali has accused American fast-food restaurant, KFC of selling bad food to its Kenyan customers.
Through a Facebook post, Ali claimed that his daughter fell ill after eating food from KFC outlet at Shell Petrol Station in Nairobi’s Hurlingham area.
“There is something wrong with KFC food especially in Hurlingham, Shell petrol station. Kindly stop selling bad food to your clients. My daughter is going through hell because of you,” Mohammed Ali wrote.
Ali, a former investigative journalist, did not give further details on what his daughter was ailing from or what type of food she took from the said restaurant.
Contacted for comment on MP Ali’s allegations, KFC said the claims are untrue. “It is not true,” said a worker who answered a call from a local news outlet.
Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) is a US fast-food restaurant chain headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky and mainly specializes in fried chicken. KFC is the world’s second-largest restaurant chain after McDonald’s, with over 22,000 locations globally in 136 countries.
KFC operates several outlets in Nairobi and other major towns like Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Eldoret.

Why Kenyans eat this junk stuff is beyond me with plethora of good quality sukumas, carots, potatoes, and all the organic stuff and then you complain about cancer etc. I never touch this junk here in the US. If I didn't cook it,I do not know what's in it !

The poor people in Kenya getting cancer can’t afford a meal at KFC, they eat what you’re calling organic food: sukuma, carrot, managu, sweet potatoes but they still get sick. No one seems to know the real source of cancer, it’s still a mystery; eat what you can afford, at least to live and end all these speculations.

It is irresponsible for leaders to make unsubstantiated sweeping statements like the claim made here.If Mohammed has proof of bad food,let him take it to the bureau of standards,or what ever entity that makes sure the public is served "good'Food. I also ate chicken from KFC Karen at the Hub twice and got sick. Most of the food outlets and supermarkets are now from outside Kenya and selling items from their country with only 1/4 from Kenya
