Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi Arrested over Assault Allegations

Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has been arrested over assault allegations.
Havi was picked from his office in Nairobi on Tuesday and driven to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices for questioning, according to LSK Vice-President Carolyne Kamende.
He is accused of assaulting beleaguered LSK CEO CEO Mercy Wambua at the society’s offices along Gitanga Road in Nairobi on Monday.
Accompanied by her lawyer Steve Ogolla, Wambua recorded a statement on the incident at Muthangari police station on Monday.
She claims Havi attacked her at the LSK boardroom where she was scheduled to have a meeting.
Havi refuted these allegations, saying that Wambua forced her way into the boardroom while they were having a meeting.
He blamed Wambua for interrupting an ongoing meeting at the boardroom with an intention of eavesdropping and secretly recording the proceedings.
Last year, LSK suspended Wambua over gross misconduct but was later reinstated by the society's Council after the vote to have her removed failed to garner a two-thirds majority.

Havi - it is time for you to resign! You failed to honor a court order to appear in court! You are the same folks telling Uhuru he failed to act on court orders. Who do you think you are to beat up a woman? It is time for you to be fired! You are fired Havi!
I wonder what grand mulla and prof Mutua Makau will say about this matter!

These people are supposed to be great legal minds.Their behavior here is repulsive, and worse than some of those village chiefs of yesteryears who never even knew how to read, and write.
For starters, Wambua is accused of gross misconduct, and she keeps her job.
The LSK president assaults her infront of at least 8 people and outrightly deny his actions.Notice that Havi(harvey) does not address the accusation, instead he acomplains that she (wambui)was an intruder...
These are people who swore to uphold law,and behave in ethical manner.Shameful no integrity at all.

No wonder many folks have referred to Kenya courts as “court mbandia or the kangaroo courts”! Just look at a whole grown nan assaulting a woman and then his lawyer makes every attempt and effort to lie! Then the judge takes a stand that havi cannot be prosecuted.
@maxiley, would you feel comfortable attending a court in Kenya well knowing that the judge or lawyer sentencing you is a criminal of some sorts himself? These legal officers have made a mockery of justice in Kenya. They are all crooks working in cohort to violate justice. Can you imagine an ordinary Kenyan doing why Havi did to Wambua??
No wonder some high profile kenyans do not show up to court because they have no respect of the people pretending to carry out justice. Why should a ordinary kenyan show up in court when Havi himself can’t not show up? The double standard here is deeply disturbing.
This is why I don’t have any respect for Maraga, professor Makau, grand mulla, etc when they stand up on top of high tower building saying Uhuru has disregarded court orders. Havi’s blatant disregard of the law is all the reason why Uhuru looks at them with disdain! No wonder he declined to approve the six criminal judges to the court of appeal!
Now I wonder what CJ Koome will have to say about the situation with Havi! I want havi to resign and gave his law license revoked for life!
Well said.

How much is Havi’s slap and kicks going to cost him? Maybe 100 million shillings!? I would bitch up to Kshs 200 million to send a good message to a “learned friend” that slapping women will not be condoned in Kenya.
I don’t even slap a lion when out on a good Moran hunt! Hawa ma-lawyers wako na ushetani mingi sana!
