Molo MP Kuria Kimani Ditches Jubilee for Ruto's UDA Party

Molo MP Kuria Kimani has become the latest lawmaker to ditch the ruling Jubilee Party ahead of the August 9th general elections.

The first-term MP on Sunday announced his decision to leave Jubilee and join Deputy President William Ruto-led United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Kuria, who was received by Ruto at his Karen residence, said he will defend his seat in the forthcoming elections on a UDA ticket.

“I have served my Jubilee Party diligently. However, as I look forward to serve the people of Molo as their Member of Parliament for another term, I will be seeking this mandate through United Democratic Alliance Party  (UDA),” Kuria said in a statement.

The youthful MP went on to quote the 32nd US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, saying: “These economic times call for the building of plans that build from the bottom up and not from the top down, that put their faith once more in the forgotten man at the bottom of the economic pyramid.”
