UDA Treasurer Omingo Magara Ditches the Party, Cites Lack of Democracy

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party national treasurer Omingo Magara has stepped down from his position.

Magara also announced he has resigned from the Deputy President William Ruto-led party, citing a lack of democracy.

Magara, who is eyeing the Kisii gubernatorial seat in the forthcoming elections, said he made the move after consultations with his supporters, family, and friends.

"For a very long time, I have harbored and ambitioned to be the Kisii County governor through the UDA party where I was also the national treasurer. There has since been developments that render my candidature through the UDA party impossible," Magara told the press at St Vincent Pastoral Centre in Kisii County on Monday.

"After considerable reflection and consultations with my people in Kisii County, national leaders, family and friends, my political ambitions and future cannot be sufficiently addressed by the UDA party. I therefore immediately resign as a party member and as a treasurer.”

The former MP for South Mugirango constituency said he is ready to partner with like-minded parties that will support his vision for leadership.

"I'll continue talking to other political players with a view to finding political suitors that align with my vision for Kenyans and that will respect the ethos of inclusivity by crafting a future that weaves a fabric that appreciates every Kenya's dream and aspirations," Magara stated.

Magara got tired of eating Ruto’s stolen money! He got the foot and mouth disease as you can see his lips have already turned red. It is a curse associating with DP Ruto!

It is good you found out before it is too late!! I wonder why president Moi did not consider Ruto as a friend. The old man refuses to see Mr. Ruto when he traveled to his home. I wonder why ? Maybe he knew shaking his hands is shaking all the blood he has shed.

He was asking for a direct party nomination ticket. UDA does not support such undemocratic practices. He is free to join other parties like ODM where the boss issues direct nomination tickets.

I thought DP Ruto went to America to teach Americans about democracy? He left his house burning in Kenya to go peddle bunch of lies 20k miles away!
