Media Personality Janet Mbugua Rejects Offer to Become Moses Kuria's Running Mate
Media personality Janet Mbugua has reportedly turned down an offer to become Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria’s running mate in his quest for the Kiambu governor’s seat.
Kuria, who is eyeing the Kiambu gubernatorial seat in the August 9th elections, says Janet emerged as the best candidate in his search for a deputy governor.
Through Facebook on Thursday, the MP said he was “shattered” after Janet declined to take the offer due to “unforeseen personal emergencies.”
“I am shattered. After scoring the highest marks in the talent search for Kiambu Deputy Governor, Janet Mbugua will not be taking up the job due to unforeseen personal emergencies that she has to attend to in the immediate term,” Kuria wrote.
Kuria, the Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party leader, pledged that his administration will tap Janet’s experience, describing her as an inspiration for the youth in Kenya.
“My administration will definitely find a way to benefit from Janet’s experience and capacity in the future. I feel the loss. Janet is a huge inspiration for the youth, for professionals, for women and for young mothers of this country,” added Kuria.
If elected as the fourth Kiambu Governor, Kuria says he will use his 15 years of experience in banking locally and abroad, and nine years as an MP with a proven track record to transform the county to the same status as the City State of Singapore.
This would be achieved through a program based on three core pillars of efficient service delivery, converting Kiambu into an investors’ paradise to create jobs, and exports promotion for agricultural, manufactured products and human capital.
