Mombasa Politician Ali Mwatsau Survives Assassination Attempt
Mombasa politician Ali Mwatsau is fighting for his life in hospital following an assassination attempt in Tudor on Tuesday night.
Nation reports that the politician was heading home from a local mosque when he was ambushed by gunmen near JCC Buxton at around 10:00 pm.
The assailants, who arrived in two vehicles, fired 22 times on the right side of his vehicle before speeding off.
Mwatsau sustained gunshot wounds on his arms and legs and was rushed to a Mombasa hospital for emergency treatment by a tuktuk motorist.
Police officers visited the scene and took photographs before towing the bullet-riddled vehicle belonging to the politician.
