MP Didmus Barasa Allegedly Shoots and Kills Opponent's Aide

Police in Bungoma are in hot pursuit of Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa after he allegedly shot and killed his competitor Brian Khaemba’s aide.

Barasa is said to have shot Khaemba’s aide Brian Olunga at Chebukwabi polling station at around 6.00 pm on Tuesday, according to a police report.

Khaemba, who is eyeing the Kimilili parliamentary seat on a DAP-K ticket, had gone to the polling station to witness the counting of the votes but he found Barasa there and decided to leave.

Barasa then followed him in the company of four men and ordered them to block Khaemba from leaving. Khaemba’s driver identified as Joshua Nasokho defied the order and ignited the vehicle.

“Didmus Barasa withdrew a pistol and aimed at Mr. Khaemba's aide namely Brian Olunga and shot him on the forehead where he profusely bled,” read the police report.

Olunga was rushed to Kimilili Sub-County Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

“Scene visited by the police accompanied by Scenes of Crime Personnel from Bungoma County, where the scene was processed and documented,” the report adds.

Barasa went into hiding following the shooting incident.

Nilimwona huyu ndugu yetu akimpiga kofi mtu fulani mahali fulani.

Sasa, Barasa atakuwa na makao mapya huko Kamiti mpaka kufa kwake.

@ Imara Daima, I surely hope that you are right. Some on this forum have said that he might walk free, because Kenya is corrupt...etc. Well, Iam an optimist, and also arealist. corruption can only go so far. One cannot keep on breaking the law with impunity. There comes atime when the "victims" get tired of being victimized...You can only push the envelope too far.
Iam hoping that justice will prevail.Yes, I have seen some of that thug's clips. He is arrogant, overbearing, and thinks that he is all that powerful.Cut him down to size.Kamata mpaka kamiti.

Unfortunately, nothing will happen to him. He will claim defense or the case will be delayed for years.
Unfortunately, this is the Kenya we're living in where money talks and the rich and powerful are always above the law.

I know What you Mean. Some Kenyans will Kill you on Spot; or Slowly by Slowly. And they'll Walk free like Nothing happened. There have Been such Attempts on Me 5 times (3 in Kenya 2 in Diaspora). But the Planners failed Miserably because GOD was on my Side.🙏😖

Police should shoot Raila/muuaji Barasa dead instead of arresting him.It will be very dangerous to arrest an armed blood-thirsty thug,Barasa.JAMAA AMEOJA/ANANUKIA DAMU ATA ATAUA HAO POLICE WOTE.They should also remember muuaji Babu’s attempted murder case was settled.

Raila is another name/title for all murderers.Others titles are Owino,Elizabeth,George,Kenyatta,Moi,Kabogo,Amin,Wanjiru,Osama,Joho,Obando,Okondo,Kones,Mugane etc. There are many names equivalent to murderer.Maybe you one of them.

I don't think Kenya is that bad than the USA. Having lived all my life here, I've decided to migrate to Kenya. Criminals, thugs, fake gangsters are everywhere. It's ashame how y'all talk negatively about your country.
