Raila Rejects Presidential Election Results, to File a Petition

Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga has rejected the results of the August 9th presidential election where UDA candidate William Ruto was announced the winner. 

Terming the results as null and void, Odinga vowed to challenge Ruto’s victory in court, accusing IEBC Chairperson Wafula Chebukati of violating the Constitution and electoral laws in his decision to declare Ruto the president-elect.

"What we saw yesterday was a travesty of the laws of Kenya by Wafula Chebukati and a minority of IEBC commissioners... The figures announced by Wafula Chebukati are null and void and must be quashed by a court of law. In our view there is no legally declared president-elect," said Odinga at KICC on Tuesday.

“We totally and without reservations reject the presidential results announced yesterday… We are pursuing constitutional and lawful channels and processes to invalidate Mr. Chebukati’s illegal and unconstitutional pronouncement.”

Odinga said they were shocked to learn that Chebukati alone decided to pronounce himself the supposed winner of the 2022 presidential elections, denying all commissioners access to the tally of the presidential vote. 

“The law on the IEBC provides that unless a unanimous decision is reached, a decision on any matter before the commission shall be by a majority of the members present and voting,” said Odinga.

"We will be pursuing all constitutional and legal options available to us. We will do so because we regard the many flaws in the election and the wrongs committed by IEBC as fatal to the process and outcome announced by Chebukati.”

Let's the games begin.
Most of us knew this was coming whatever direction the results took.
Raila and his team have their constitutional right to fight the results.
But, let's understand one thing here, most of us have our favorite candidate even the IEBC commissioners, thus some walking out, this was staged to try and fool Kenyans that the elections were rigged, Government machinery working against democracy, working against the will of the people.
Now, let's see how compromised the judicial system is.

It is RAO's constitutional right to take his grievances to court,and that's the right, and lawful thing to do especially when you are called a leader...
By no means do I take his case as frivolous,but when did he have time to peruse through, I would think voluminous data to formulate a coherent legal brief? Even if his legal team has been on top of things, for pete's sake,the results are hardly aday old.To me it looks like they are throwing mud on the wall and hoping some will stick. This is not to say that I supported Ruto.But he has won and he is our 5th president let's pull together and support him,and of course we should all be watch dogs for the government.
I have repeatedly said that my preference would be a candidate who is not tainted with corruption,and scandals.Above all a person of integrity and good moral standing.Since its increasingly had to find such a candidate in Kenya,at least let us make sure that whomever we elect is held accountable of his or her actions.

Raila is Kenya's excruciating political pain. If he doesn't shine, he doesn't stay! If he doesn't win, it is rigged. He pulls 4 IEBC commissioners from tallying process at Bomas then says- Chebukati is a dictator. He bribed Roslyne Akombe of IEBC-who went to hide in U.S. in 2017, then said- see, IEBC cannot perform without enough personnel and boycotted the re- election that Maraga had gifted to Raila. Kenya will have no peace and violence shall remain in our shadows so long as Raila lives.

What a character!! Not Presidential material!!
This time it's "Flaws and wrongs"
Last time it was "illegarities and irregularities"
5 times Raila run for Presidency; 5 times he lost; 5 times his votes were stolen.
Kibaki- Nusu Mkate ( his victory stolen)
Uhuru- Nusu Mkate ( his victory stolen)
When Raila was granted his wish for repeat elections he run away.
Even now the court can only grant him repeat elections. ( waste of Kenya's resources)
Raila has been a perpetual looser; Nothing less.
This time, politically he is done and he knows it.
Uhuru has completed his term and will retire peacefully;
Raila is hanging on but will soon realize he has nowhere to go. Kenyans have spoken round and clear!!
Raila, you are our past; could not even attend a mere debate.
Go home! We are done here. If you go to court more humiliation will follow.

Raila and Uhuru forced their MPs to okey the hiring of his(Raila) thugs by IEBC.They were Wairegi-Mathenge Kanini’s brother,Masit-wife of Tiaty MP-Kamket,Nyagaya-Tuju’s cousin & Nyongo’s in-law and Chelele-Joho’s gachungwa.Their plans to rig for savage Raila were thwarted by Chebukati.Anyang’s I haina bahati mala hii.Akileta vita,prosecutor Khan anamungonja.
