Raila Calls for Constitutional Changes and IEBC Reforms

Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga has called for changes to the Constitution to streamline the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and other agencies.

Speaking during the burial of his wife’s bodyguard Barrack Onyango Oduor in Siaya on Saturday, Odinga dismissed calls to retire from politics, saying he will continue to fight for a better country.

“People are saying Raila is tired and should retire. I will not stop fighting for a better country. Until such a time when things will be fine in Kenya, we shall continue calling for better governance,” Odinga said.

He added: “It is not about Raila becoming president. It is about better services – affordable food, clean water, employment to millions of youths and better healthcare for all.”

Odinga, who lost his fifth stab at the presidency during the August 9th election, likened elections to modern football, where the video assistant referee (VAR) was introduced.

“There is the video assistant referee (VAR) in any football match these days. The purpose is to ensure a fair process while officiating the match,” he remarked. “We should also have improvements and introduce VARs to end a repeat of what has been taking place in this country during elections.”

Vampire Raila is simply igniting another round of politicking to nowhere. The demon believes he must win presidential elections but pretends he doesn’t know parental curse is real.Cost of living can/will only be achieved by fighting corruption from TOP and downsizing the bloated govt. The poop constitution must overhauled to abolish unwanted institutions starting with senate scrapping the 48 governments to the former provinces and Nairobi merging with Central province. Why have 48 governments in a country where six million people are facing hunger and 60% unemployment? What else has your county achieved in ten years other than creating a few (b)millionaires through looting?

Every time Raila looses, he calls for change in constitution. Every time he wants things his way he calls for change in constitution. Kenya cannot be changing constitution just to satisfy an individual.
And even though his noise st times help especially in oversight, he should join Hans in helping grow Kenya instead of fighting just for the sake of personal interests.

Interesting, this was not in BBI. These people seems to have a short memory. In the making of the 2010 constitution, the main concern was how Moi amended the constitution to serve him. The checks and balances were put in place to stop this practice. Every agency, including IEBC, has room for improvement, but we don't need a constitutional amendment to improve any of our agencies.
