Ruto Plotting to Betray Gachagua, Says Murathe

Jubilee Party Vice Chairperson David Murathe claims that President William Ruto is plotting to betray his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

Murathe who is aligned with Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta's political camp is accusing Ruto of plotting to frustrate the political pursuits of Gachagua. Murathe claims that the President plans to vanquish his deputy and put limits on his bid to become the next head of state. To back up his assertions, Murathe cites Ruto's recent move of installing ordinary Jubilee Party affiliates to top governmental positions - mentioning an example of Nelson Dzuya appointed as the National Chairman.

Murathe also accuses Ruto of partnering with EALA MP Kanini Kega and nominated MP Sabina Chege intending to hamper Gachagua's sway in the Mt Kenya region. Essentially, the strategy is to prevent Gachagua from forming his political faction or establishing significant reinforcement in his homeland, imperative for a potential presidential campaign. As a countermeasure to Gachagua's perceived influence, Ruto has proposed bringing on board two more vice party leaders.

The local elections of the party, which were initially slated for this month, have been postponed until April of next year as a result of conflicts regarding leadership roles. Gachagua's Proponents hailing from the Mount Kenya region affirm that the Deputy President is set to maintain his status as the sole deputy in the outfit. They are headstrong in rejecting any efforts made towards naming two additional deputy party leaders. Conversely, politicians from Western Kenya have proposed that Gachagua is not assured to replace Ruto and that a Luyha candidate is probable to assume the position upon Ruto's retirement.
