Maryland Kenyan Community: July 11th Nyama Choma Cookout & Mandatory Park Registration
Get ready for the Maryland Kenyan Community Nyama Choma Cookout! We are set to Grill, Chill & Connect on Saturday, July 11th, from 12 PM to 7 PM at Gunpowder Falls State Park, Pavillions 2, 3 & 4. There will be music, DJs, games, and fun for the whole family—all are welcome, so bring your chairs and good vibes!
Important: Mandatory Park Reservations
Please note that Maryland has implemented a new park law, and park rangers will not let you in without a reservation. Payments are no longer accepted at the park entrance.
To attend, you must pay your entrance fee and reserve your spot online in advance at parkdayuse.maryland.gov.
- Maryland Residents: $5 each
- Non-Maryland Residents: $7 each
Key Details:
- Advance Reservations: Required on weekends and holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
- How to Book: Reservations must be made online, and you can reserve up to seven days in advance.
- Pass Holders: Even if you have a Maryland Annual Park Pass, Golden Age Pass, or qualify for free entry as a veteran or individual with disabilities, you still need to make a reservation so your status can be verified upon entry.
