Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Warms Up to Jubilee

Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar appears to have joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
Three weeks ago, Omar officially resigned as the Secretary General of Kalonzo Musyoka-led Wiper Party, after losing to Hassan Joho in the race for Mombasa governor seat during the August 8th general elections. Omar further said he would not be campaigning for opposition leader Raila Odinga im the repeat presidential election ordered by the Supreme Court.
Sources indicate that Omar will officially decamp to on Sunday, when President Uhuru takes his campaigns to Mombasa county.
Photos of Omar in a meeting with Jubilee campaigners were widely shared on social media on Thursday. The meeting is believed to be at a top Jubilee campaigner, Farid Hisham’s office in Tudor.
“Yes we were with him at the meeting. I even talked to him and he said he will receive the President on Sunday. He told me he has joined the party.” A source within the meeting told Nairobi News.
Last week, Omar saud he was ready to campaign for President Uhuru, but only if the head of state approached him.
