NTSA Officer Arraigned in Court over DusitD2 Terror Attack

A National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) officer has on Wednesday been arraigned in court in connection with the illegal issuance of a number plate for the car used by terrorists who attacked DusitD2 complex on January 15th.

Appearing before Milimani Court Senior Resident Magistrate Caroline Muthoni Nzibe, Augustine Mulwa Musembi has been detained for 30 days pending completion of investigations into the matter.

Musembi is accused of aiding and abetting terrorism by issuing a number plate for the car- KCN 340E — used by the gunmen during the attack that left 21 people dead.

Detectives say they recovered a vehicle with a similar number plate in Kitengela, Kajiado County, indicating that one of the plates is fake.

Musembi was paraded in court after detectives from the Anti-terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) raided NTSA main offices on Wednesday morning over the registration of the vehicle used by the terrorists.

A number of NTSA employees were arrested during the raid and were taken to ATPU Upper Hill offices for questioning.
