MP Beatrice Kones' Son Passes Away in an Alleged Suicide

Bomet East Member of Parliament Beatrice Kones’ son has passed away in what is alleged to be suicide.

Collins Kipyegon, 40, was rushed to the War Memorial Hospital in Nakuru on Friday morning after allegedly consuming poison at his home in Kiamunyi estate.

Kipyegon was pronounced dead moments after arriving at the hospital.

“He was rushed here early morning for having taken poison and doctors did all they could do to save his life but unfortunately he died," a doctor who sought anonymity told the Standard.

A close friend who spoke to the Standard divulged that Kipyegon was having marital conflicts with his wife.

“He has been having marital issues which we suspect drove him to commit suicide,” he says.

His wife and three children were away during the incident.

Kones' family is yet to issue a statement on Kipyegon's death. MP Kones is reported to be out of the country on official duty.

Some of these psych diseases maybe man-made. Humans I think, were meant to constantly hussle life and when we do not then meaning of life evaporates. If you lack the very basics in life that is water, air, food, shelter, sleep or even excretion you have no time to feel depressed because you are on a survival mode. Never heard of say a chokora who was too depressed to go look for food. Once you start to self actualize then these psych diseases start to crop up. But I may be wrong.

You could be onto something Mugikuyu; Africans are losing that mental strength once taken for granted, quickly aping western mental management ideas without the necessary resources. We now want to go for counseling, family intervention, massage, relaxation trips...but we have no doctors nor money nor amenities. A human being is not designed to have everything provided for them. For a while, we were laughing that only Wazungu were jumping to death because their cats died, but now I see Africans too (especially the generation born into wealth WETHER looted or not). Where is the mental strength that saw wo/men sit in jail for years, get out and move on with life. Eeeeh...we are hated for a reason, a good reason. We have to protect that which makes an African a hardy creature.
