Controversial Kenyan blogger Robert Alai was on Tuesday arraigned in court where he was charged with two counts of treachery and disclosure of information contrary to the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
Alai is accused of sharing gory photos of slain police officers on social media with the intent to help Al-Shabaab.
The officers were killed after a vehicle they were traveling in ran over an improvised explosive device (IED) in Wajir County on June 14th.
The security officers were pursuing suspected Al-Shabaab militants who had attacked a village in Konton and kidnapped three Kenya Police Reservists.
Appearing before Milimani Court Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi, Alai denied the charges and was freed on a bond of Sh500,000 with an alternative cash bail of Sh300,000.
Alai, who had been detained for 14 days, could be jailed for life if he is found guilty of treachery.
The case will be mentioned on July 16th, 2019.

As much as I can't stand this Alai dude, this is total BS. cops still harass people over wearing fatigue and small nonsense crap. Kenyan needs to grow up.
Complete nonsense. This are nonsensical charges, third-world mentality that exaggerate issues that are inconsequential while minimizing or disregarding charges that are causing havoc to humanity such as corruption.
