Eastmatt Supermarket Takes Action against Supervisor Filmed Assaulting Female Cashier

Eastmatt Supermarket has confirmed that the man who was caught on CCTV assaulting a female cashier at their Kajiado store is their employee.

In a statement on Saturday, the retailer said the cashier was physically abused by another employee and was receiving treatment.

Further to this, Eastmatt indicated that the man, who was a supervisor, had been suspended and a report filed at the Kajiado Police Station. The retailer did not reveal whether he had been arrested.

“We as EastMatt condemn and do not stand for such heinous acts of disrespect against our staff more so women. The individual in question acted solely and has since been suspended with a report officially being filed at Kajiado County Police,” read the statement.

In the video, the violent man is seen slapping the female cashier on the left cheek, pulling her by the hair before hitting the back of her head.

He goes ahead to pull her from the counter and continues raining blows on her until after a man in a white shirt comes to her rescue. It took nearly a minute for the cashier to get help.

At the beginning of the video, the man appears to be in a heated argument with the cashier before he begins assaulting her.

@ Just me, I think what settle normad mean is that if this woman was married, the beater would have thought twice before laying ahand on the women. Basically men hesitate attacking another man because chances are that a man would hit back, and sometimes harder. If that fellow did that to my wife, he would also be dealing with me,apart from the law.My interpretation.

I would want to know what had made this man so mad as to beat up the girl. I know it doesn't matter what ..,noone should hit another.
..but tell us what the beating was about.
I hope he gets a real huge fine and some years in jail.

@Justme...you disappoint me bro...ati what had she done? The man is in a position of power. Even if they had an affair or she had stolen, etc...does not warrant that behaviour. The victim should sue the company as the security did not intervene. I go a step further and say he is stripped down to his boxers or chupi (as sure he is wearing his wife's) to check the status of his kutairishwa.. if he has undergone the ritual and the passage of being a man, then the elders should go back to the doctor who carried the deeds and demand another kutairishwa or else they should demand their money back! NB: No disrespect to our brothers with warmers to their junk, lakini the true meaning of this rituals demands graduation from a boy to a man able to control his animal urges and master unspoken code of conduct. Controversial I know, but if in any doubt, go to any gathering where these boy/men are and the true dume will shine through without a spot light!

This kind of behavior should not be tolerated, a suspension is not enough, he should have been
terminated on the spot.
