33-Year-Old JKIA Aircraft Engineer Stabbed to Death by His Girlfriend in Nairobi

Police in Nairobi have arrested a 29-year-old woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend to death.

Vigilance Shighi is said to have attacked her boyfriend Edward Okello, 33, using a kitchen knife at his house in Umoja Estate, Nairobi following an argument. 

Okello, an aeronautical engineer based at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, where he succumbed to stab injuries while undergoing treatment.

The stabbing incident was reported to Buruburu Police Station at 8.30 pm on Sunday, May 10, by an officer attached to IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati.

Police officers visited the scene of the crime where they found a pool of blood in the living room and a kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon.

The suspect was identified by Okello’s neighbors after the incident and was arrested and detained pending arraignment in court. 

Police immediately launched investigations into the gruesome murder. The victim’s body was moved to the hospital’s mortuary.
