Safaricom Announces Another 5-Hour MPesa Outage

Safaricom has announced there will be an outage of Mpesa services for five hours beginning at 11.59 pm on Monday.
The telco company through a statement on Monday said the five-hour shutdown will pave the way for system maintenance aimed at improving MPesa services.
“Our M-Pesa services shall be undergoing planned maintenance tonight Monday, July 6, 2020, starting from 2359 hrs to 0500 hrs,” the company said.
The disruption will affect all MPesa-related transactions including airtime purchase.
“During the maintenance, all M-Pesa services, including airtime purchase shall be temporarily unavailable.”
“The timing of this maintenance activity has been planned to result in the least of inconvenience to our customers,” Safaricom added.
This is the second time in a span of two weeks that Safaricom is interrupting its mobile money transfer service for maintenance.
