Raila Meets India Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi

ODM leader Raila Odinga on Sunday met India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

In a statement, Raila said India and Kenya share a fond bond as many Kenyans have for decades attended universities in the populous Asian nation.

“My hope is that we shall strengthen ties and learn more from each other in the years ahead," said Odinga.

On his part, Modi said he was “delighted to receive my friend H.E. Raila Amollo Odinga, former Prime Minister of Kenya.”

“I fondly recollect my past interactions with him in India and Kenya. India and Kenya enjoy strong bilateral relations and we welcome further strengthening of our ties,” Modi said through Twitter.

Odinga traveled to India last week for the treatment of his daughter Rosemary, who was admitted to Sreedhareeyam Ayurvedic Eye Hospital and Research Center in Koothattukulum in Kerala State, South India.

Rosemary became partially blind in 2017 after she was diagnosed with aneurysms and a brain tumor, which was later removed in China after initially seeking treatment in South Africa.

Raila says the traditional treatment his daughter received at the Indian hospital brought her eyesight back.

"By using traditional medicines, my daughter finally has her eyesight back, and this gave us a lot of confidence", he told news agency ANI.

He also urged Modi to bring this treatment method (Ayurveda) to Africa, so it can help others as well. "I've discussed with PM Modi to bring this treatment method to Africa and use our indigenous plants for therapeutics", he said.

Raila noted that treatment at hospitals in Kenya, South Africa, Germany, Israel, and China failed to help in the restoration of Rosemary’s sight.

Greed for power. Ambiguous ambitions. Dreams are sweet, but most dreams disappear immediately you wake. Good luck old man

At RAO age your shriveled kamuti will not be able to stand up! You will very smile for insulting an elder at Raila’s age! It’s possible you will not identify yourself them!

Not all people respect murderers.Age means nothing if the person is a blood thirsty vulture to the extent of sacrificing his son to gods so that he can win the presidency.Remember you might be his next victim.

His appointment was set up as - meet the African union High Rep for infrastructure and Development . Not as Azimio chief or Uhurus handshake partner.

How confused is your very small head! TangaTanga - equals UDAku - equal Kwanza - equal thieves - equals the big thief Ruto!

I like Raila but the man lacks charisma. He just doesn’t have the presidential vibe to him. He comes across as a yes sir kinda guy. I’ll still take him over ruto.

  10. Bwana BiwottFeb 13, 2022

You’re looking for “charisma?” , you should be worried about people who wanna steal everything in Kenya. Ruto is a thief, bad thief with goons all around him, I’ll vote for Raila to keep this thugs out of Kenyan politics.

  11. KKFeb 14, 2022

Yes charisma matters. If Ruto is a thief, a bad thief as you stated so does that make Raila a good thief?

  12. Bobby KibeFeb 14, 2022

In the Daily Nation of 2/13/2022, there was a huge picture of Ruto having a meeting with Sudi and I am sure they were discussing matters of high importance to our nation.

  13. Mr. CollusionFeb 14, 2022

Kibe exactly. Great minds Ruto and Sudi

  14. Bobby KibeFeb 14, 2022

Collusion; I am being sarcastic. Napenda matusi ya Sudi but I am not in UDA.
