Safina Party Endorses Businessman Jimi Wanjigi as its Presidential Flagbearer

Safina Party has formally endorsed businessman Jimi Wanjigi as its presidential flagbearer in the August 9th elections.

Wanjigi received the greenlight as the party’s 2022 presidential candidate during the National Delegates Conference (NDC) held in Nairobi on Sunday.

The lawyer Paul Mwite-led political outfit also resolved not to join any political coalition ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The tycoon joined Safina Party last Wednesday after ditching the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party about two weeks ago.

"I did assure Kenyans that I will be on the ballot on August 9th, 2022. And where I will be, it is where the next government will be formed. It will be a government of the people of Kenya and for the people of Kenya. Today, I have officially become a Member of Safina Party," Wanjigi told reporters on Wednesday.

He added: "We have all the ingredients to govern the country with a singular purpose to rebuild this society, to correct the inequalities and imbalances of the past, to empower the disempowered, to grow inclusive democratized economy, create jobs and wealth, and be a global player. Safina Party will build a partnership with Kenyans to deliver this mission.”

Wanjigi severed his ties with Raila Odinga and ODM after he was forcefully kicked out of the party’s National Delegates Conference at Kasarani indoor arena and roughed up by rowdy youths.

He had previously declared his intention to square it out with Odinga for the ODM presidential ticket.

Whether Wanjigi becomes president or not, that's for another day. What happened to him at Kasarani is the true narrative that many Kenyans of Azimio persuasion don't want to hear: Raila is a dictator and is the father of all political violence in Kenya. Wanjigi, a well-known friend of Raila, (when they're busy stealing from wananchi), had his butt kicked out of kasarani by Raila's goons only because he dared stand up to Raila demanding a democratic process in the ODM party. Who can forget men on black violence in 2015? It was an ODM-on-ODM crime. We all watched and witnessed what democracy means to Raila and ODM. Before voting for Riala to be the president, we should all remember the almost daily mass demos that Raila was staging in Nairobi; his goons beating up the motorists, burning vehicles and looting businesses. They even burnt schools in Kisumu. Raila as prime minister could have done great things for our country, he didn't, because he cannot. Obama's cousin built a community canter back in Nyanza. Obama came in person for the center's opening ceremony. Raila took off. He was no show-because for decades upon decades that he has been in power, he has done nothing for his own people. He was ashamed. Raila is a dangerous and violent man who swears himself in as president. Raila wants power for power's sake.

Congratulations Jimmy.

Am sick and tired of Raila, Ruto, Uhuru,Mudavadi,Kalonzo, Ngilu and Wetangula.
It has been 30 years of listening to these people bickering.

Tumechoka.

It’s time for fresh faces in Kenya politics.
