Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah on Friday, June 2, stated that President William Ruto and his team are optimistic of convincing MPs who were likely to oppose the Finance Bill 2023 by simplifying its proposals.
The lawmaker during a press conference in Nairobi said some of his colleagues have not examined the document and thus are on a deliberate mission to misinform people with their inaccurate viewpoints. The National Assembly majority leader pointed out that condensing the details and figures within the Bill would assist them in persuading legislators under pressure from their constituents to stand against it. The Finance Bill 2023 is set for discussions in parliament starting next week.
"I must say that those engaged in a spirited campaign against the Bill have not read that Finance Bill. It is my prayer that we will leave the drama out there. They have done their bit in misinforming Kenyans. When they come to the floor of the house, they better come with facts and figures because we will be having them," he stated.
The firebrand lawmaker also urged Mps in Azimio's faction to partake in meaningful discussion when the bill is introduced for debate in the National Assembly. Ichung'wah's statement came shortly after Ruto began executing his strategy during a gathering with governors and industrialists around the nation. The engagement saw the President implore governors from both political divides to back the Finance Bill that has since stirred up nationwide debate.
He pointed out that the tax proposals included in the Finance Bill are aimed at generating job opportunities for many Kenyans. Ruto remains determined to thwart Azimio, who has recently used graphics to clarify and explain the contentious Bill and how it will affect Kenyans.

Ruto should first legally correct evaded tax and arrears from Kenyattas,Mois,Kibakis,Odingas,Wanjigis,current/former MPs including himself,so-called 50 Mt Kenya billionaires led by expired shoga/jambazi Kirubi etc.But Kenyans must also demand for downsizing of the useless/bloated/non-performing government by 3/4.Only lunatics take loans to pay salaries.
Two cons laughing at themselves while Kenyans are dying of hanger!
