Why KDF Disqualifies Short and Tattooed Applicants in Recruitment Drive

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have slated to recruit new members in August and September this year.
The KDF has cautioned against fraudulent recruitment practices amidst the annual recruitment event that entices many applicants with contrasting demeanours and appeals. To be eligible for selection, applicants must heed Vice Chief of Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi's list of stipulations.
“In a recruit, we look for three things. You should have the correct physical standards, be medically fit and have the right papers,” said Mwangi on Citizen TV.
Academic qualifications are essential, with a minimum grade of D or higher in the Kenya Secondary Certificate Education (KCSE) depending on the category applicants intend to join. Moreover, candidates are expected to illustrate their optimism and confidence towards the position, and must also be within the age range of 18 to 26 years old if interested in General Service Officer Cadet or General Service recruit openings. Women who are planning to submit their application should not be less than 5 feet tall, while men ought to be 5 feet and 3 inches or more.
“Short people are great but there are criteria that are set and are not only applicable to the KDF, it is everywhere. The personal weapons that we have are over four feet, you can imagine going to fight and the weapon is taller than you so that’s a big challenge,” he explained.
The Vice Chief of Defense Forces says that people who do not meet the height standards are more likely to fail to reach the 50-kilogram weight requirement for the job. He also cautions against applicants with tattoos and birthmarks, as they may not be eligible for the job due to past policies or potential skin weaknesses. Additionally, stammers or those with criminal records cannot qualify due to their communication skills. The public is warned against bribery for job offers. The exercise is set for August 28th.

Old minds need be retired for if short people are excluded from the forces they should also be excluded from taxes for its where the forces get funding from, same goes for anyone with speech impidement,we should include everyone for weapons come in all sizes and am pretty sure there is a wide range of activities an individual can do in the forces that has no bearing on height or speech.
