Trouble in Paradise: Rigathi, Kuria Feud Puts Ruto in a Fix

The ongoing conflict between Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has intensified, revealing a power struggle within President William Ruto's administration.
Kuria has responded to Gachagua's criticism with a tweet spat that threatens to rapture the government, presenting the President with a dilemma between favouring his deputy or jeopardizing their relationship. It is believed that the conflict has links to the political power struggle in the Mt Kenya region. Previously, Gachagua criticized Kuria and Interior CS Kithure Kindiki for showing up late to a State House meeting leading to further inquiries by the President. Despite Gachagua calling out Kuria over his recent remarks, the latter denies any current conflict with Gachagua.
According to Kuria, who is working on opening business parks across the country, the ministry's efforts to reduce the cost of living will provide direct financial benefits for Kenyans. Unfortunately, recent disputes and conflicts within the ministry have shed light on the mounting difficulties Kuria faces within Dr Ruto's one-year-old government. In addition, Kuria's feud with Gachagua, recent snubbing by Katherine Tais, and perceived targeting of his boss in a chain of tweets only exacerbate the situation.
According to Kuria, fuel prices will keep rising by Sh10 each month until February 2024. Reports indicate that Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has relocated Kuria's office from the luxurious Two Rivers Mall to the official ministry headquarters at the NSSF Building. Kuria has reportedly employed more than ten advisors, exceeding the recommended amount of two advisors per Cabinet Secretary.
Amidst frictions within his new government, President Ruto has summoned a conference for every elected and nominated official within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). This convocation can be inferred as a pressure stemming from the infightings. This comes as senior members of the ruling party have called for a Cabinet reshuffle due to the high cost of living exacerbated by rising fuel prices and a weakening shilling. Some senior UDA legislators have also criticized Cabinet Secretaries for non-performance.

Very good! Let them keep fighting like two little kids. They have planned this nonsense to hood wink Kenyans from talking about important development matters! These fools think Kenyan are dummies!
