Just days after the head of state issued them with a title deed for land in Kibra, the Nubian community has vowed to back President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid.
The endorsement for the community comes days after President Uhuru issued them with the ownership documents for 288 acres land, which includes the Makina and Lindi wards and some parts of the Laini Saba ward in Kibra constituency.
On Friday, through the Nubian Council of elders, Uhuru gave the certificate of incorporation for the land to the Nubians, ending the decades of outcry for their legal right.
Nubians Rights Forum chairman Shaffi Ali said elders will mobilize all Nubians registered as voters to vote for Uhuru in return for the gesture. "There is now a president who has overseen the process of us getting the land. We say thank you, we have votes and we will vote," Ali said.
But controversy surrounding the land has emerged as there are members of other communities who occupy the land, leaving the matter in a deadlock.
Ali revealed that the land given to them will not be subdivided, adding that the land will be developed to suit the needs of the entire Kibra Nubians community.
"There shall be no language of inciting anybody that they would be removed from Kibra. We are all Kenyans," Ali said.
"We are going to develop this land; we will have many rental houses, plazas and big houses to be rented. We welcome any other business-minded Kenyan to take house to do business with the entire Nubian community," he added.

"He should be disqualified and his certificate to run for any public office terminated" Go ahead and terminate the certificate. You should should run for this position instead.
Some of these NUBIANS need to go to the ICC. They commit murders in South Sudan and come to hide in Kenya.
Ali the Numbia leader.
You are the best leader and best community organiser
Stay on one family on the whole of that land you will be so strong that athet people will regret why they didn't come together like you I keep up and God bless you all.
Is there any wonder that tribalism thrives in Kenya, and openly manifests itself during election year...
Eh and you think just because there are no "tribes" in "developed " there are no factions when it comes to elections. Handouts happen all the time, favors are exchanged during elections, church groups are given kitu kidogo to mobilize their brethren in certain electoral districts ( Didn't you see DT in Detroit singing hallelujah in a certain church with his African American advisor Amarosa). So y'all need to quit cherry picking Kenya as a strange case . There are tribes all over the world some speak the same language , some don't ! Just to remind you since you are in US, what do you call DT tribe - uneducated, blue collar , white trash , race baiting haters, Coal country / Appalachian etc . that is a tribe in itself!
I hear you. tribe in itself is nothing bad. However, when one start discriminating based on tribe, then it becomes a concern. Iam sure you have heard people in Kenya say,"its time for our tribe to eat". Forming factions and other separatist groups to combat evils in the society is a good thing, but not forming them to enhance hatred.
I would not be comfortable for someone to go around in Luhya land drumming support, and saying that all Luhyas should support one candidate.Iam sure you see the inherent danger in that...
Formerlyguest 2 thank you for answering those tribal issues.Am a proud gikuyu n I will never apologize for it if I was to be born again I want to come out as a gikuyu maumau damu.Every tribe should celebrate being who ur n b proud of it???Raila was a prime minister n they had the land docket n they could have given the nubians the title deeds but they were busy stealing more than 500,000 acres in coast, thank uhuru cancelled those titles n gave back the land back to Mombasa country indigenous pple.So nubians have every right to support the next government jubilee upto 2070.

Why don't you ask your brother Uhuru to return the lands that his father stole when he was the first prime minister and the president of Kenya? His father was the "founding father of corruption and nepotism" as we know it today. The ghost of his father is still alive and well. How? See, Dada Waiguru's people want to be allowed to elect her knowing very well how corrupt she is!
My thoughts about this problem of tribalism is. Intertribal relations is just like any other inter human relation eg between friends and family. The main drive should be towards more compassion and more love.Yes problems are always there and other problems always coming up.But then we can always look to find wisdom to solve those problems. Of course when you are working with large masses of people, for example 40 million + kenyans. The problems are much much more complicated and the solutions will usually take a long time to play out. However the basic idea is the same.A never ending pursuit of more compassion, more love, more peace. I think this basic idea is what Martin Luther King Jr was referring to when he said. The arch of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice.
Msema kweli if jomo stole land how comes nobody has gone to court to sue them!!!!This propagandas need to stop;Rumors won't help anybody.Let pple go to court n prove the land was stollen then Kenyatta's will refund it!!!!How comes the white pple around laikipia, nyahururu, tigoni ,coast who owns millions of acres are not said to have stollen?Walitoa hizi mashsmba wapi???How comes pple see only Kenyatta's????
Please lets not b selective n use our brains in the right way.

Would a goat get justice if he took the lion to court and the judge happens to be a LION?
Nubians Endorse President Uhuru's Re-Election Bid

By Uhuru giving the Nubians title deeds just about two months before the election, he has committed an act of "BRIBERY."
How long are we Kenyans going to remain silent when we see clearly what Uhuru has done! He has openly bribed the Nubians people in order to re-elect him. He should be disqualified and his certificate to run for any public office terminated.
