NASA Wants IEBC to Hire Foreign ICT Expert after Msando's Murder

National Super Alliance (NASA) has asked the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission to hire a foreign Information Communication Technology expert following the murder of IEBC’s ICT manager Christopher Msando.

Speaking during a press briefing at Capitol Hill offices in Nairobi, NASA leaders led by Amani National Coalition leaders expressed their fears following the death of Msando and asked the electoral commission to replace him with a non-Kenyan expert.

“Our democracy has been thoroughly undermined by the murder of Msando,” said Mudavadi.

While urging for speedy investigations into the murder, the NASA coalition further indicated that the August 8th elections will not be free and fair unless security of IEBC officials is maintained.

“Unless dramatic steps are taken Kenyans will not be sure if the polls will be credible,” noted Mudavadi.

They called on the electoral body, to hire an internationally recognized Information Technology expert to oversee next week’s elections.

“We suggest IEBC to immediately secure services of international experts to secure the system and whoever takes Musando’s job should perform with integrity.”

IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati while addressing the media on Tuesday said that their servers and networks were secure, adding that the absence of Msando will not affect the Commission’s ICT department.

Hypocrite,I hear you,and have been pondering the same sort of question for along time. For example since independence, how many scientists, and engineers has Kenyan institutions graduated?Add that to those who graduated in foreign lands(Usa,Britain)Cann't we get at least 30 from this lot-who are experts in this field(how many do we need at atime)? If you tell me that they are corrupted and not trusted, then we have a gargantuan problem.
Another way of looking at it is-what do these experts have that Kenyans dont? And if we dont have "it" can we get it?Or make it-Made in Kenya?
Anyway, the bottom line is for this case to be solved and the culprits brought to justice, and if that will take foreign, and domestic aid,so be it.
